Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join their finance team as Assistant Manager – Accounts Payable. The selected candidate will oversee the end-to-end payables function, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and support continuous process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy across operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely booking of invoices, reconciliation, and vendor payments.
  • Monitor GR/IR balances, follow up on pending items, and coordinate with internal departments and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze various MIS reports such as Payables MIS, Payment Efficiency, and GRIR Open Status.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparation of necessary provisions.
  • Assist in preparing OPEX budgets and monitor cost variances between actual and budgeted figures.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate laws, and internal financial controls.
  • Collaborate with internal and statutory auditors, ensuring timely completion of audits (Statutory, Internal, Stock, Limited Review, etc.).
  • Develop and enhance reporting automation through SAP scripting and Excel macros for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including SOP creation, Kaizens, and KPI tracking aligned with organizational goals.

Pre Requisites

Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

Experience: 5–7 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAP (preferably S/4HANA) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis, and standard costing principles.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, and finance teams.
