Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a result-oriented and hands-on Assistant Manager – Production to join a globally recognized apparel manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in apparel production operations, team leadership, and process optimization. This role is crucial in driving operational excellence, ensuring quality standards, and meeting delivery targets in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising daily production operations to meet quality and delivery targets.
  • Coordinate with production planning, merchandising, quality, and engineering teams to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Monitor production efficiency, reduce waste, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, buyer requirements, and health & safety regulations.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff to maintain high performance and discipline on the shop floor.
  • Track production metrics (output, efficiency, downtime, defects) and report to management.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and implement corrective actions for production-related issues.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing practices and production systems.
  • Maintain strict adherence to timelines and resource optimization without compromising product quality.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the production team.

Pre Requisites

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Apparel Production, Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in apparel manufacturing, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or executive role.
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production planning.
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to operational challenges.
