Role Overview
The Head of School – Computing will be responsible for providing academic leadership, strategic direction, and operational management for all computing and IT-related programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management team to strengthen the university’s position as a leader in technology education, while also fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and inspire faculty members and administrative staff within the School of Computing.
- Oversee curriculum design, academic delivery, and program accreditation in line with international standards.
- Promote cutting-edge research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in computing and emerging technologies.
- Develop and strengthen industry linkages, research collaborations, and global academic partnerships.
- Ensure high-quality student outcomes, focusing on employability, practical exposure, and academic excellence.
- Contribute to the university’s long-term strategic plan and play an active role in institutional governance.
Pre Requisites
- A strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Proven leadership experience within higher education, research, or a senior-level academic environment.
- Demonstrated achievements in teaching, research publications, and academic administration.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills with the ability to inspire faculty and students alike.
- A collaborative leader with a vision for the future of computing education in Sri Lanka and beyond.
- Possession of a PhD in Computing or a closely related field is highly advantageous.
