Our client, a globally reputed multinational in the manufacturing sector, is seeking an accomplished and strategic Director – Manufacturing to lead and oversee multiple production facilities in Bangladesh. The role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, driving productivity, and maintaining world-class manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, business acumen, and technical expertise to steer large-scale operations efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to all manufacturing operations across multiple plants.
- Oversee production planning, quality assurance, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain functions.
- Drive operational efficiency through Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement practices.
- Lead cost optimization, capacity utilization, and process automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with international standards for safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with corporate goals and expansion plans.
- Manage budgets, resource planning, and capital expenditure for multiple plants.
- Mentor and guide plant heads, engineers, and managers to achieve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, and Procurement for integrated operations.
- Report performance metrics and strategic plans to senior management.
Pre Requisites
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in large-scale manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-plant operations.
- Open to candidates from any manufacturing industry background — exposure to apparel, packaging, or labeling sectors will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Management; a Master’s degree (MBA / MSc in Operations or Industrial Engineering) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of modern manufacturing systems, process automation, and efficiency improvement tools.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and implement operational best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- High proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
- Must be willing to relocate to or be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
