Roles & Responsibilities

We are hiring a General Manager – Human Resources to lead the people function of a large-scale, multi-location blue-chip manufacturing organization in Sri Lanka. This is the most senior HR leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and playing a key role in shaping strategy, building a performance-led culture, and driving organizational transformation across factory operations nationwide.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build a Purpose-Led, People-Driven Culture: Champion a high-performance, transparent, and inclusive culture rooted in strong values and business results.
  • Lead Transformation at Scale: Design and deliver the people strategy to support business expansion, operational excellence, and digital adoption.
  • Drive Stakeholder Alignment: Engage closely with the CEO, Board, cross-functional leadership, and external partners including government, industry bodies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Standardize & Elevate HR Practices: Institutionalize performance management, talent development, workforce planning, and people analytics across diverse factory units.
  • Be Present on the Ground: Lead from the floor to the boardroom—understanding operations at the grass-root level while shaping long-term strategy.

Pre Requisites

Preferred Experience

  • 13–15+ years in progressive HR leadership, including at least 5 years in top-level roles within large-scale manufacturing.
  • Experience handling multi-site factory operations across different locations is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in culture transformation, change leadership, and performance enablement.
  • Strong exposure to working with external networks – regulators, chambers, and industry associations.
