Roles & Responsibilities

A leading multinational manufacturing group with a significant footprint in the textile and broader industrial sectors is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Group Director – Operations to join its Executive Committee (EXCO). This high-impact role demands a leader with deep operational mastery, business foresight, and proven experience across Apparel or diversified manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group-Level Strategic Leadership
  • Drive the long-term operational roadmap in collaboration with the Board and EXCO. Contribute to corporate strategy with insights on manufacturing competitiveness, expansion, and innovation.
  • Multi-Cluster Operations Management
  • Oversee the performance of multiple manufacturing clusters, including apparel plants and other production facilities. Ensure alignment across units on KPIs, operational efficiencies, and customer commitments.
  • Operational Excellence & Automation
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and automation-led transformations. Lead initiatives that uplift plant performance through digitization, analytics, and smart factory models.
  • New Plant Setups & Expansions
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of new factory setups, from feasibility to commissioning. Drive large-scale regional or international expansions while ensuring compliance and speed-to-market.
  • Innovation & Sustainability
  • Foster a culture of innovation across the group. Embed sustainability, energy efficiency, and ethical manufacturing standards into the operating model.
  • Board & EXCO Collaboration
  • Work closely with the CEO, CFO, CHRO, and other board members on group-level decision-making. Translate strategic goals into executable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • People Leadership & Talent Upliftment
  • Lead a strong second-tier of operational leaders. Mentor, inspire, and align diverse teams across cultures and geographies to a unified vision.

Pre Requisites

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Industry Experience:
  • 20+ years in Apparel or related manufacturing sectors (e.g., FMCG, Electronics, Consumer Durables, Automotive).
  • Minimum 8 years in Group or Cluster-level leadership roles with regional/multinational exposure.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing / Automation / Mechatronics Engineering or Physical Science.
  • MBA from a recognized university.
  • CIMA qualification and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will be added advantages.
