Information Technology Infrastructure Manager

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing the designing, planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes but not limited to both physical and cloud infrastructure, data centre, LAN & WAN networks, firewalls, routers, switches and access points. Further, the role is responsible for supporting the development of overall Data Centre strategy to deliver strategic IT infrastructure leadership objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

• Oversee and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud solutions.
• Ensure infrastructure meets business requirements and performs at optimal levels.
• Develop and implement strategies for system upgrades, scaling, and improvements.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor the IT infrastructure team, including systems administrators, network engineers, and support staff.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively while ensuring team members have the resources and training they need.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure IT infrastructure adheres to security policies, regulations, and compliance standards.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect data, systems, and networks from cyber threats.
• Regularly audit infrastructure for vulnerabilities and oversee remediation efforts.

Budget & Vendor Management:

• Oversee budgeting and resource allocation for IT infrastructure.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and cloud services.
• Monitor and report on infrastructure costs, ensuring budget adherence and cost-efficiency.

Project Management:

• Lead infrastructure-related projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify infrastructure needs and align IT strategies with business goals.
• Maintain and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Monitoring & Optimization:

• Regularly monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Establish and manage infrastructure monitoring tools for proactive issue detection.
• Analyze system data to recommend improvements for infrastructure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure systems, configurations, and processes.
• Report on infrastructure performance, capacity, and issues to senior leadership.
