Roles & Responsibilities

Our client is a leading apparel manufacturer seeking for a Merchandising Manager – Intimates Wear will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end merchandising process, from product development to production and delivery. This role requires strong experience in intimates wear, an understanding of market trends, and the ability to manage supplier relationships while ensuring high-quality standards and cost efficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Product Development & Range Planning:

  • Collaborate with design, production, and sourcing teams to develop trend-driven collections for ladies’ intimates.
  • Conduct market research to identify fashion trends, materials, and innovations in lingerie, shapewear, and sleepwear.
  • Work closely with buyers and designers to create a competitive product mix that aligns with the brand’s positioning.

2. Merchandising & Costing:

  • Develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies to drive sales and profitability.
  • Manage cost negotiations, margin analysis, and pricing strategies to meet business targets.
  • Ensure accurate product specifications, BOM (Bill of Materials), and cost sheets for each style.

3. Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Source and build relationships with global suppliers and manufacturers for raw materials and production.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and production capacities to optimize cost efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on-time deliveries and adherence to brand standards.

4. Production & Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Oversee the entire order-to-production lifecycle, ensuring production timelines are met.
  • Work closely with factories to resolve production challenges related to fabric, fit, or trims.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring the right stock is available at the right time.

5. Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all products meet brand quality standards and compliance requirements (e.g., fit, fabric durability, and wash tests).
  • Collaborate with the QA/QC team to address quality control issues and production defects.

6. Sales & Performance Analysis:

  • Analyze sell-through reports, consumer feedback, and market trends to improve future collections.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize product assortment, pricing, and replenishment strategies.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve sales and margin performance.

Pre Requisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 8 -10 years in merchandising, sourcing, or product development within intimates wear.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, fit, and technical aspects of lingerie and intimates.
