Production Engineer

OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Engineer with expertise in plastic molding to oversee and enhance their manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will focus on ensuring optimal production efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and implementing improvements in plastic molding techniques. This role is pivotal to achieving operational excellence and meeting customer demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Production Management:

• Oversee daily production activities in the plastic molding department.
• Plan, schedule, and manage resources to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Monitor and optimize machine performance, cycle times, and production rates.

2.Process Improvement:

• Analyze existing molding processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Troubleshoot molding issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Collaborate with the design team to evaluate mold designs and optimize for manufacturability.

3.Quality Assurance:

• Ensure that all products meet established quality standards and specifications.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and monitor production to ensure adherence.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for quality defects.

4.Equipment Maintenance:

• Coordinate with the maintenance team for the upkeep and preventive maintenance of molding machines and tools.
• Maintain records of equipment performance and maintenance activities.

5.Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Train and supervise production operators to ensure adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members when necessary.

6.Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all production activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
