Production Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and hands-on Production Manager to lead the manufacturing operations of a fast-paced FMCG company based in Colombo. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely production of goods while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive performance on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily production operations to ensure achievement of output, quality, and efficiency targets.
• Plan, organize, and manage production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
• Lead and motivate the production team to meet KPIs in areas such as productivity, quality, cost, and safety.
• Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), health and safety regulations, and company SOPs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
• Monitor and report on production metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, and line efficiency.
• Manage production resources effectively, including workforce planning and equipment utilization.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for production issues and customer complaints.
• Support new product introductions, trials, and scale-ups in collaboration with R&D and quality teams.
