Technical Manager

OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking for a highly qualified and experienced Technical Manager with a strong background in activewear production, specifically with exposure to Lululemon standards and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Product Development & Design Collaboration: Lead the technical development of activewear products, ensuring all designs are production-ready and meet high standards of quality, fit, and performance. Collaborate closely with designers and product development teams to bring activewear concepts to life.
• Lululemon Standards Expertise: Leverage your experience with Lululemon’s stringent technical and quality standards to guide the development process, ensuring alignment with the brand’s requirements and performance benchmarks.
• Fabric & Trim Selection: Work alongside designers and sourcing teams to select the best materials (fabric and trims) that align with both functional and aesthetic goals. Ensure the materials meet durability, stretch, breathability, and sustainability requirements specific to activewear.
• Fit and Garment Construction: Oversee the fitting process and manage garment construction to ensure that the product is optimized for performance, comfort, and aesthetics. Conduct fit sessions, make technical adjustments, and ensure the best possible product execution.
• Technical Specifications: Prepare and maintain accurate and comprehensive technical packs (Tech Packs), including construction details, fabric compositions, size charts, grading, and labeling requirements. Ensure specifications align with Lululemon standards and industry best practices.
• Production Oversight: Manage the technical aspects of production from prototypes to bulk manufacturing, ensuring garments are produced efficiently and in line with technical specifications. Address any production-related issues, and provide guidance to resolve technical challenges.
• Quality Assurance: Implement stringent quality control processes throughout the production cycle. Ensure all products meet or exceed established quality benchmarks, including durability, performance, and aesthetic standards, in line with both company and Lululemon guidelines.
• Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring they understand and adhere to technical requirements. Conduct regular assessments of suppliers to ensure quality and compliance with the brand’s technical and sustainability standards.
• Textile Engineering Expertise: Apply your academic background in textile engineering to improve product functionality and durability. Utilize your technical knowledge to evaluate fabric performance, sustainability, and innovation in materials.
• Innovation and Trend Analysis: Stay updated on the latest innovations in textiles, garment technologies, and activewear trends. Drive technical innovations that enhance product performance, sustainability, and differentiation in the market.
• Team Leadership & Training: Mentor and guide junior members of the technical team. Provide training on technical processes, quality control, and best practices within activewear production.
